Constantin Toenz

 Constantin Toenz is Deputy General Manager and CFO (Finance, HR, Marketing, Legal and Business Development) of SWITCH, the National Research and Education Network of Switzerland.

Constantin joined SWITCH in 2001 as Deputy General Manager, CFO and head of the domain name registration for .ch and .li. Based on his experiences in various industries he successfully applied commercial models and concepts to the non-profit environment. He pushed the strategic alignment of SWITCH and the change from an infrastructure to a service oriented organization.

From 1997 to 2001 he was CIO of CWS International, a service organization in washroom hygiene in Europe. He was responsible for the ICT of the 14 European subsidiaries as well as an European-wide initiative for a business process re-engineering and the implementation of SAP.

At Electrowatt Engineering Services (1994-1997) he build-up a new ICT-consulting service with focus on early Internet based business models and telecom liberalization. This activity included the setup of a software development unit in Bangalore (India).

From 1991-1994 Constantin was responsible for consulting projects for SME in the production sector (focus on production management and logistics), which were challenged by competitors from the Far East with products at comparable quality but at significant lower prices.

Constantin Toenz holds a Master in Information Management and a Doctorate in Economics of University of St. Gallen and an Executive MBA of IMD Lausanne.
