DANTE and the GÉANT NOC are responsible for security on the backbone network segments and use DANCERT to co-ordinate and resolve security related issues.

Mission Statement: DANCERT provides information and assistance to NRENs in implementing proactive measures to reduce the risks of computer security incidents as well as responding to such incidents when they occur. To offer support to NRENs in the prevention of and response to IT related Security Incidents.
